Stove Pipe Shako plate – Brass – 1800-1812

British Napoleonic War General Service Pattern ‘Stove Pipe’ Shako plate in brass.
No fixings present, as these were attached by fitting fine wire from holes punched at the four corners of each plate, and ‘laced’ on to the helmet.

A die-stamped overlaid brass. Crowned, foliated BRV cypher within laurel wreath. Four threaded attachment prongs on reverse. 3 3/4 x 2 3/4"

Georgian Officer’s Universal Pattern Gorget circa 1796-1830.

A fine copper gilt example of the pattern worn at Waterloo, the rim of the crescent formed over a wire frame. The centre part finely engraved with a crowned GR cypher and attendant laurel sprays.
This pattern introduced in May 1796. The gorget was abolished by William IV in August 1830 but permitted to be worn by Officers at home up to Christmas 1831 and up to 1832 by those abroad.

(Later Seaforth Highlanders) Embossed brass rectangular plate with Duke of Albany's banner above crown and the numerals '72' within a thistle wreath, below are the words 'Own Highlanders'.1825-1855 period. Two attachment hooks and two studs on reverse.

On a rectangular embossed brass plate Beneath a motto banner, a crown and the winged harp of Ireland within a shamrock thistle and rose floral wreath below which, is a sphinx surmounted Egypt and banner with Roman numerals ‘XVIII Royal Irish’. denoting the Nile Campaign, aka. 'Gordon Relief Expedition (1884–85)'. Four attachment studs on reverse.

Shoulder belt plate The Royal Highland Regiment 'The Black Watch'

Rectangular Seeded gilt Shoulder belt plate with raised burnished edges mounted with a facetted silver Star of the Order of the Thistle; mounted on the Star, within a gilt thistle wreath, a crowned oval bearing the motto of the Order of the Thistle (Lacesset). Central silvered St.Andrew and Cross, Below the wreath, a gilt Sphinx. Reverse with two hooks and two studs.

Princess Louise’s Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders post 1881 Officer’s shoulder belt plate.

A good gilt example. Rectangular brass plate mounted with silver coronet over ‘PRINCESS LOUISE’S’ scroll, conjoined wreaths with boar’s head and cat over title scroll. Reverse with two hooks and two studs. Gilt toned.

51st. Yorkshire Light Infantry Regiment Officers Shoulder belt plate

Rectangular seeded brass plate with overlaid silvered coiled bugle horn and crowned laurel wreath with motto lettered banner incorporating the regimental number ’51’ with applied silver battle honous pre 1855. Two attachment hooks and two studs on reverse.
