A COLOSSAL STATUE AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE TEMPLE OF LUXOR
[ONE OF THE COLOSSI OF RAMESES II IN FRONT OF THE TEMPLE OF LUXOR]

Even half buried, the power and majesty of the statue is evident, especially as Roberts placed groups of figures beside the monument for the purposes of scale and to give life and a link between the 33 centuries of the 19th dynasty to the 19th century.
